THE LIBRARY
The library is an ever-evolving collection of books on art, design, critical theory, philosophy, odd fiction, small press, zines, and more. Right now it is heavlily leaning toward feminist media theory thanks to a donation from the author Linda Williams. The library will be open for perusal during classes, events and open houses. The library is available as quiet work/study space for Bathers members.

CURRICULUM
Currently our programming is centered around community-created reading groups. In 2025, we will begin to add more hands-on workshops and studio-based activities. To that end—I am looking for collaborators! If you are excited about creating independent/free/lo-cost experimental arts education, or are an artist interested in facilitating a class—get in touch at batherslibrary@gmail.com!

RESIDENCIES
Our private (~8x10’) studio will be given to artists free for three month residencies throughout the year (one artist at a time). In addition to their own independent projects, resident artists will be able to exhibit work in our front window, to host an open studio, and will create an edition object.

THE PRESS
Bathers Library press creates work in part based on the activities of the library—so, books or prints based on artist talks or by residents, for instance. We also create a line of conceptual art games, apparel, objects, and more.

EVENTS
Host an event! We are excited to host readings, screenings, talks and more in the space. Please fill out our event form [coming soon] to propose something!

MEMBERSHIPS
Bathers Library is a member-supported organization! All money that comes in from book sales, class fees and memberships will go to paying facilitators, artists, and rent. Find out more about membership levels at our member page [coming soon].

VOLUNTEER
There are lots of ways to plug in at the library. As the space is getting set up we need lots of help organizing and cataloging books, as well as curating library sections. And so many other things! All volunteers will get free membership and access to the space during non-public hours for work or other activities.
